Tip of the Day: Preventing Ambushes

To avoid being ambushed, it's important to always stay aware of your surroundings and carry a weapon. If a firearm is not an option, a knife can be a good choice.

For a knife, a fixed blade is best because it's quicker to deploy than a folding knife. It's also recommended to carry the knife inside the waistband in the appendix position. This allows for quick access with either hand and the option for a hammer or scythe grip depending on the distance of the attacker.

However, simply owning a weapon isn't enough to guarantee self-defense. It's important to regularly train with your weapon under realistic conditions and stress.
